Les dividendes sont une portion des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices choisie par le conseil d&#8217;administration de l&#8217;entreprise et peuvent \u00eatre vers\u00e9s sous forme d&#8217;actions, de paiements en esp\u00e8ces ou de biens. La date ex-dividende d\u00e9termine le moment o\u00f9 les transactions sur l&#8217;action sous-jacente n&#8217;incluent plus un droit au paiement du dividende \u00e0 venir. Par cons\u00e9quent, \u00e0 la date ex-dividende, la valeur de l&#8217;action sous-jacente diminuera d&#8217;environ la valeur du dividende. Toute personne d\u00e9tenant une position sur l&#8217;action sous-jacente avant et pendant la date ex-dividende aura droit de recevoir ou sera tenue de payer le dividende, selon qu&#8217;elle soit en position longue ou courte. Par cons\u00e9quent, si l&#8217;une de ces actions d\u00e9clare un paiement de dividende, le prix de l&#8217;action sous-jacente diminuera de la valeur du dividende, et l&#8217;indice diminuera \u00e9galement de la valeur moyenne pond\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e9quivalente du m\u00eame dividende \u00e0 la date ex-dividende.
